Food waste or food loss is that is discarded or cannot be used. The causes of food waste are numerous and occur at the stage of production processing retailing and consumption. As of –(2013) half of all food is wasted world wide .According to the British Institution of mechanical engineers loss & wastage occurs all stages of food supply chain .In low income countries most loss occur during production , while in the develop countries much food about 100 kilo gm / person / year is waste at the consumption stage. Food loss measures the decrease edible food mass throughout the part at the supply chain that specifically leads to edible food for human consumption that is loss at the production postharvest and processing stage. One way of dealing with food waste is to reduce its creation consumers can reduce spoilage by planning their food shopping, avoiding , potentially wasteful spontaneous purchases and storing food properly Keywords: high level radioactive waste management, lean manufacturing, mini waste
