Description :
The management of waste generated by industries and its proper disposal is a formidable task. Chemicals of toxic nature are found in municipal water supply, fruits and vegetables and in water tables. These originated from excessive use of pesticides during farming and from discharges from industry. The collection and disposal of garbage has a long history. When the garbage and waste enter into the water bodies or soil, it contaminates everything. The most dangerous factor in the growth of the country’s landfill is the contamination of the nearby drinking water supply. For this, there is need to adopt an integrative approach for management of waste. As, it is becoming a serious concern. An integrated system for management of wastes has been spelt out to maintain the quality of the earth’s environment and also to achieve sustainable development.
